I saw my favorite coffee shop in Chicago post a sign that said "shop small or risk becoming the suburbs you fled" and I FELT that. While the burbs aren't all bad, to me, small locally-owned shops are what make our communities vibrant, special and wonderful. If you're able to support any of these amazing businesses this holiday season as you shop for others (or yourself!) I'm sure they'd be infinitely grateful!
