FACIALS + SKINCARE

Yolanda Porrata

There are no words to truly describe how much I love Yolanda. She has completely transformed my skin, and helped me to understand how I can take care of it and continue to nurture it without a 30 step process and with very clean products created by women in the Bay Area (hi Botnia + Marie Veronique!). Her facials are next level and she is a wonderful human being. She owns her own skincare studio in the Mission District in San Francisco named Vera. Learn More

MASSAGE THERAPY

Enchanted Massage

I move my body quite a lot and find massage therapy - specifically deep tissue / Thai massage to be useful to not only release tension and soreness but it's also a wonderful way to reset my nervous system and relax. My favorite massage therapists at this Inner Sunset massage studio are Julie & Mia. Learn More

QUANTUM HEALING + REIKI â€‹

Brandi Zorzy

Brandi is a fellow yoga teacher and an incredible healer. It's hard to explain how powerful her offerings are - you have to experience for yourself. She offers free consultations + operates in San Anselmo + San Francisco. Learn More

YOGA

Jason Crandell

Jason is one of my favorite yoga educators out there. I got my 300-hour training from him, and love his spin on the practice. He is educated on philosophy but shares it in a way that applies to every day life. He is skilled in yoga asana but offers education around it that really encourages you to view it from a sustainable lens. He is educated in sports medicine and works with doctors in that field to better understand the body and what it needs to continue to practice for a long time. I adore him (probably because we are both from the Midwest?) and hope to find more ways to study with him. He offers a lot of educational content online on his website and on Glo.

Jane Austin

Jane is my teacher for all things pre + postnatal. She was a Midwife for many years + celebrates the female body and all of the amazing changes that happen in pregnancy. She knows exactly the right thing to say to take you out of a space of fear and into a state of love. I am constantly inspired when I am learning from her. If you are expecting, I highly recommend her prenatal classes and partner workshop before birth and if you're a new mom, her postnatal classes are amazing (you get to bring your baby!). She offers classes in San Francisco, primarily at the Yoga Flow Noe Valley studio - learn about her offerings here.

Dr. Rowena Mittal

I met Rowena in my first training with Jane. She is incredibly smart + now offers yoga for fertility classes on Fridays in San Francisco. You can learn about her offerings here.

Erin Gilmore

Erin is the first teacher that made me realize I could play whatever music I wanted in class and it felt so freeing to me. She also taught me that it's important to encourage people to listen to their own bodies way before they listen to anything that I say. My first "yoga teacher" (read: gym teacher who taught yoga) in high school used to really push me to achieve certain postures I wasn't physically able to do and he made me feel terrible and weak - her teaching encouraged me to remind people that they are in charge and that they have true freedom to do what they need to do for their bodies and that there is nothing wrong with doing what you need to do for your body as it is today. Her classes are fun, challenging, light-hearted and they are my version of self-care each week in studio. If you're not in San Francisco to take her classes in person, she offers them online every Sunday (and sends the recordings each week with beautiful musings). Learn more here.
